Wales In Style

In 2005, Visit Wales identified a gap in the market for a top-end bespoke brand for UK short breaks. Designate won the pitch to developed Wales in Style

Designate won the pitch to develop Wales in Style, a completely new brand. Wales in Style was launched as an independently selected guide to the very best of hospitality and tourism in Wales. Operating solely as a website, Wales In Style doesn’t just deal with accommodation, it’s a total leisure experience featuring the best hotels, restaurants, bars, shops and tourist attractions that Wales has to offer. The Wales in Style website is funded by partner membership, sponsorship and advertising, and is designed to be entirely sell-funded within three years. Although the project is supported by Visit Wales, it is run and owned by Designate, which gives it more freedom and flexibility than if it was a wholly owned Tourist Board enterprise. Via the Cardiff office, Designate researches potential member organisations for their suitability. Those partners who are deemed to have a tried and tested high quality product offering are then invited to sign-up. The Wales in Style programme has over 200 partners and has received extremely positive feedback from the Welsh Travel and Tourism industry as well as end users.

My Roles:
