Wim Crouwel A Graphic Odyssey

This was a fantastic exhibit at the Design Museum of a legendary designer Wim Crouwel. "One of the leading designers of the twentieth Century, Wim Crouwel altered the course of graphic design with his experimental typography. Arresting and rigorously concieved, his posters books and stamps from the last 60 years are presented". On until the 3rd of July, I would highly recommend that you see this exhibition. There was a staggering amount of work on display spanning a life time of one of the most influential deisgners. His CV was printed on the wall giving context to the collosial amount that one man achieved during his career- Teacher, museum director, agency work and more this guy did not hang about! His use of layout and typography is second to non. A systematic old school designer, Crouwel was definaetly a logical rather than emotional designer although not afraid of experimentation. His communications are both striking and effective and have shaped the visual language of today.
