Bridget Riley at the National Gallery

Ridiculously small for such a well publicised exhibition, I was a little bit disappointed with the display of Bridget Riley work. The small courner room of the ever grand National Gallery displayed one floor to ceiling wall piece – which admittedly caught my attention! But other than that Riley’s works seemed pretty much carried by name rather than merit. It was interesting to see how the featured work was based on the old masters of the National Gallery, but they weren’t to my taste and the display missed that WOW factor which I was expecting of her.
